Following last week’s casting announcements for Netflix’s The Witcher Season 2, which included casting decisions for Geralt’s fellow witchers, Eskel and Lambert, Netflix has now announced their casting decision for the role of Vesemir; Geralt’s father figure, and the eldest member of the School of the Wolf. Of course, Mark Hamill would certainly have been a more high-profile casting choice. Bodnia is also well-known for playing detective Martin Rohde in the Nordic crime noir series The Bridge. For his portrayal of Rohde, Bodnia won a Golden Nymph award at the 2014 Monte-Carlo Television Festival for Best Actor in a Drama Series.
