Apex Legends System Override Collection Event Starts Tomorrow

Tomorrow, Respawn will be launching System Override, the first Collection Event to take place in Apex Legends since the launch of Season 4. The two-week event boasts an all-new game mode, new event cosmetics, and more besides, not to mention the Evo Shield; a new type of shield item with very different mechanics. With an update also launching alongside the new event, here’s what you can expect in the Apex Legends System Override Collection Event.

What to Expect in the Apex Legends System Override Event

The headline feature for the Apex Legends System Override Collection Event is, of course, the new Deja Loot game mode. Only available during the event, which is live from the 3rd of March to the 17th, Deja Loot offers players much more predictable loot. Instead of finding random loot all across the map, all loot will be the same in every container, in every match of Deja Loot. Indeed, even the plane path and circle locations will be the same, although these will change on a daily basis.

Apex Legends System Override Collection Event Launches Tomorrow

During the first week of the event, Deja Loot will be available to play on the World’s Edge map. That will give you a week to learn where to find the best loot, before it shifts over to King’s Canyon for its second week. The other big inclusion in System Override, which will only be available in Deja Loot, are the Evo Shields. These new items are an alternate type of shield with very different mechanics. Initially, an Evo Shield is the weakest shield in the game. However, it becomes stronger the more damage you deal to enemies, eventually progressing to new shield tiers. At its maximum state, an Evo Shield will be the strongest shield in the game.

Of course, the System Override event is a Collection Event, so it also features 24 new event cosmetics. These will only be available directly or in Event Packs. If you unlock all 24, you’ll be able to get the Octane Heirloom Set for free. However, in a change from previous Collection Events, System Override will also feature an Event Prize Track, like that which featured in the Grand Soiree Arcade Event. This track allows players to unlock two Legendary Weapon skins, among other things.
