Now that we have talked about the free games available this month, we can move on and make some predictions about what games might be free to play next month through Xbox Games with Gold.
One of the most important releases coming up in April is the remake of Resident Evil 3, which will release on April 3rd on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Maybe we can play another Resident Evil game for free to celebrate its release. Our pick is Resident Evil: Revelations, the 2012 game that took place between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5. This release received acclaim including multiple awards.
Another release we can look forward to in April is Snowrunner from Focus Home Interactive, which will come out on April 28th. So, we hope that we get to play the related Mudrunner American Wilds, which released from Focus Home Interactive in 2018 for Xbox One, PS4, Switch and PC.
Also on the list of releases slated for April 2020 is Moving Out, a physics-based game releasing on April 28th on all major platforms. It would be cool if we get to play another game which emphasizes physics for free next month. One idea would be The Z Axis: Continuum. The description reads, “Play the 2D puzzle platformer game inspired by Portal which started off as a popular little jam entry and has since blossomed into the 30 level reality-defying monstrosity that it has become.”
Also, speaking of Portal, why not make Bridge Constructor Portal free next month? This game also involves physics. The description reads, “As a new employee in the Aperture Science test lab, it’s your job to build bridges, ramps, slides, and other constructions in 60 test chambers and get the Bendies safely across the finish line in their vehicles.” Last year, Games with Gold featured Portal: Still Alive for Xbox 360, so there is precedent for featuring a Portal game.
