My New Favorite Gaming Chair

I admit I went into this with a bias. I love MapleStory, and I think Pink Bean is about the cutest thing ever. In fact, I still remember how excited I was by the Pink Bean Character Creation Event a couple years ago, but I digress. On to the review!

Assembly

The chair arrived in a pretty hefty box, and yes, some assembly was required. That sort of thing isn’t really my strong suit, but thankfully there was a helpful instruction manual which came with it, and it only took me a few minutes to get the chair completely assembled and ready to go.

Construction and Appearance

The overall build of the chair is similar to an office chair. It is lightweight, easy to move from one spot to another, and swivels. I checked over every inch of the chair carefully and was satisfied that there was no damage during shipping. The polyurethane leather has a pleasant texture, and needless to say, the pink, purple and white chair back featuring Pink Bean’s face is adorable.

Comfort and Ergonomics

As cute as any chair looks though, the real test is whether or not it is functional. Is the MapleStory Pink Bean Chair up to the task of providing you with hours of comfort during long gaming sessions?

Sinking down into the high-density mold, I was immediately satisfied as I felt the filling of the chair conforming to my body. With the pressure lever under the seat, I was able to set the height to exactly my needs. But what really knocked my socks off is that this chair comes with accessories to make it more ergonomic, namely a lumbar cushion and a headrest.

For those of you who don’t know, I am disabled, so extra lower back and neck support are important for me for long gaming sessions, particularly if I am going to be sitting in an office-type chair like this one.

I was really happy with the lumbar support. The headrest sat a little high for me since I would prefer to use it more as a neck rest, but I think that for a lot of gamers it will be just perfect. You can slide it up or down to some degree as you need it, so I was able to get it to where it provided me with some pretty decent support. Both the lumbar support and headrest are removable, so whether you use them or not is up to you entirely.

Pros of the MapleStory Pink Bean Chair:

  • This chair is flat-out adorable. Seriously, it doesn’t get more kawaii than this, folks.
  • Assembly is fast and easy, even if you aren’t too handy.
  • The high-density foam filling is super comfortable, and the addition of a lumbar support cushion and adjustable headrest makes the chair ergonomic for extended gaming sessions.

Cons of the MapleStory Pink Bean Chair:

  • Having owned similar products in the past (though none as adorable), I have noticed that the upholstery on the seat can wear down quickly if you aren’t mindful.

Final Verdict:

I wanted to love this chair. And guess what? I did! $379 is a steep price tag, but this is pretty much my ultimate gaming chair. It fits in great with my kawaii décor, provides me with the comfortable, ergonomic support I need, and I get to cuddle up to Pink Bean whether I am playing MapleStory or any other game. If you can swing it, you can’t go wrong. Don’t wait long to order, because these limited edition chairs are going to sell out fast!
