New Borderlands 3 Events: Rare Chest Riches & Loot Monster Mayhem

Gearbox has now launched their latest pair of Borderlands 3 mini-events, following the end of last week’s Slot Machina Mania and Trials Take-All events. This new pair, Rare Chest Riches and Loot Monster Mayhem, offer players better loot from Rare Chests together with better chances of encountering Loot enemies in-game. Of course, Gearbox’s month-long Co-op Loot Drop event is still live. This event offers better loot drops from Badass enemies while you’re playing co-operatively.

New Borderlands 3 Events: Rare Chest Riches

The first of the two new Borderlands 3 events is Rare Chest Riches, which follows the format of the recent Slot Machine Mania and Door Busters mini-events. The first of these, Door Busters, simply added a range of Legendary items to the game’s vending machines. Then, last week, Slot Machine Mania increased the chances of getting Legendary gear from slot machines. Now, Rare Chest Riches is increasing the odds that players will get Legendary items from the Rare Chests which are hidden throughout Borderlands 3.

New Borderlands 3 Events: Loot Monster Mayhem

In addition to Rare Chest Riches, the new Loot Monster Mayhem mini-event will be live for the next week. While the previous two events focused on specific parts of Borderlands 3; the Takedown mission in Takedown Shakedown, and Proving Grounds in Trials Take-All, this event is a bit more general. While active, Loot Monster Mayhem increases the chances that you’ll encounter a Loot enemy in-game. These are the enemies with big packs of loot on their backs which will typically run away when they see you, forcing you to target them quickly. Plus, the event also increases the odds that Loot enemies will drop Legendary gear.

Both of these new Borderlands 3 events are currently live in-game. They will remain active until the 16th of April. Typically, these weekly mini-events have been ending at 8:59 AM PT on their final days. After that, Gearbox will be launching another two mini-events. Thes studio plans to keep cycling through new pairs of events for the entirety of the duration of Co-op Loot Drop.
