CD Projekt Red Has Revealed the Specs Used to Run Their Cyberpunk Story Trailer

CD Projekt Red finally debuted a story trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 at E3 a little over a week ago. Although short, the trailer offered fans a wide and varied look at Cyberpunk’s setting, with impressive sci-fi visuals. Now, the studio has revealed the PC specs which were used to run that trailer, hinting at what might be needed to run the game on a gaming PC.

Cyberpunk 2077’s Story Trailer PC Specs

Anyone familiar with professional trailers won’t be surprised to learn that the specs are very high. The PC specs were posted on the official Cyberpunk 2077 Discord by Alicja Kozera, a Junior Community Specialist for CD Projekt Red. The PC specs used to run that story trailer are as follows.

  • Processor: Intel Core i7 8700K at 3.70 GHz.
  • Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix Z370-I Gaming.
  • Memory: GSkill Ripjaws 5, 2×16 GB 3000MHz CL15.
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti.
  • Storage: Samsung 960 Pro 512 GB M.2 PCle.
  • Power Supply: Corsair SF600 600W.

CD Projekt Red's Game is Clearly Aiming for High Potential Graphical Performance

The game’s 50-minute gameplay demonstration was only shown to journalists behind closed doors. However, journalists who witnessed that demonstration noted that the game was completely playable and capped at 30 Fps in 4K. The studio’s demonstration was run on a development build of Cyberpunk 2077; i.e. the studio didn’t bring along a specially constructed and optimized demonstration build. As a result, the game’s performance showed that the actual in-development state of the game was already running smoothly with high-quality graphics.

CD Projekt Red hasn’t announced any recommended PC specs for gamers hoping to pick up Cyberpunk 2077 on the PC when it eventually releases. However, these demonstration specs should give gamers a good idea of what it might need to run on the highest-end of its potential performance. Given the impressive spec and enormous scale of the game; it’s unclear if CD Projekt Red is planning the game for next-generation consoles or current-gen.
