Devin Booker Wins NBA 2K20 Tournament, Galaxy Opal Returns to MyTeam Packs

On Saturday night, Phoenix Suns All-Star Devin Booker showed the world that he is the best NBA player when it comes to 2K20. Booker outplayed his competition in a 16-man NBA 2K20 tournament, ultimately winning the championship. That resulted in a donation on his behalf to a charity of his choice for COVID-19 relief efforts. In addition, his NBA 2K20 Tournament win means his Galaxy Opal card is returning to packs.

Devin Booker claims NBA 2K20 Tournament championship

The NBA 2K20 Tournament began last Friday and featured 16 stars from the league battling on the 2K video game. Players were seeded based on how they are rated in the game, so Devin Booker was the No. 5 seed overall. Viewers quickly saw that seeds might not matter, though, as No. 1 Kevin Durant was eliminated in just the first round.

As far as Booker’s path he took down No. 12 seed Michael Porter Jr. (Nuggets) in the first round. He then dispatched of No. 13 seed Rui Hachimura (Wizards) in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, he was able to defeat Montrezl Harrell of the Clippers, setting up a 2K tournament championship game against his teammate DeAndre Ayton.

All of Booker’s NBA 2K20 Tournament wins came by double digits showing just how talented he is with the video game. Booker also turned up the trash talk whether it was an opposing player or his own teammate taking him on.

In the end, his tournament victory meant a donation for an important cause. He’ll have $100,000 donated on his behalf to a charity of his choice benefiting COVID-19 relief efforts.

Booker’s Galaxy Opal Spotlight Sim card returns to packs

Just about a week ago, a Devin Booker Galaxy Opal card arrived in the game as part of the Spotlight Sim Moments series. It’s his best card in the NBA 2K20 MyTeam mode of the game due to a number of badges and high overall ratings. His 39 HOF Badges include Difficult Shots, Acrobat, Floor General, Tireless Shooter, Dimer, Ice in Veins, and Clamps.

The card is available in League Moments Series 2 or Heat Check Packs at the MyTeam Market. These cost as low as 2,812 VC or 3,750 MT for a single pack, with other options including boxes also available.

Of course, gamers with enough MT can just head to the auction listings and cop the card that way. Booker is currently selling for between 100,000 and 150,000 MT on the PS4 version of the game.

In addition to the card’s return, NBA 2K is asking fans if Booker needs a higher 2K20 rating. We certainly think so, and not just based on the tournament win.
