If you have been following news on the development of first person shooter Quantum Error, marketed as a “cosmic horror” game from TeamKill Media, you may have been wondering if the game will release first on PS4 or PS5. As it turns out, Quantum Error on PS5 will be available before the PS4 version of the game.
Quantum Error on PS5 Will Happen Prior to PS4 Release
The official Quantum Error Twitter account recently posted a response to a question about PS4 and PS5 versions of the exclusive.
The tweet reads, “No, we are developing for the next generation first. The PS4 version will be ported from the PS5 version. We are going for full new tech first.”
That makes sense if one wants to craft the most ambitious game possible. Plus, we have heard so many developers talk about how much easier it is to develop for PS5, and how it allows so much more freedom over level design and more. It is understandable that TeamKill Media would rather develop directly for PS5 and then port to PS4. Theoretically, it should be able to result in a better game.
So, will Quantum Error on PS5 be one of the console’s launch titles? As of right now, we don’t know. Another user asked whether it would be a launch title or not. But Quantum Error could only respond, “Can’t say yet. We have to see how development progresses.” Of course, if the console will launch in 2020 as Sony plans during the holiday season, TeamKill Media is running out of time. So, they should have to announce relatively soon whether or not it will be done in time to be one of the launch titles.
As we learn more about how Quantum Error is coming along, we will share any updates we hear. You can also follow along with everything else that is taking place with PlayStation 5 in our PlayStation news.
