In one week’s time, Creative Assembly will be releasing The Warden and The Paunch, a Lord Pack DLC for Total War: Warhammer 2 which pits High Elves against Greenskins. While the DLC will add Eltharion the Grim and Grom the Paunch as playable characters, the studio will also be adding a third playable Legendary Lord to the game for free, as per usual. In this case, that Lord is Imrik, the mightiest Dragon Prince of the High Elves.
Total War: Warhammer 2 Free-LC: Imrik
“A direct descendant of Caledor the Phoenix King,” explains Creative Assembly; “Imrik is widely known as the greatest living Dragon Prince and shares a unique bond with Dragonkind”. Imrik will be available to download and play for free on the 21st of May, alongside the launch of The Warden and The Paunch. He leads an all-new faction; the Knights of Caledor, and has campaign start positions which put him far from the High Elf homeland of Ulthuan.
In the Eye of the Vortex campaign, Imrik will start in Ka-Sabar, in the Shifting Sands region of the Southlands. Meanwhile, in Mortal Empires, he will be starting in the Fortress of Vorag in the Plain of Bones, far to the east in the new map area which was added with The Shadow and The Blade DLC. Imrik will have two unique magic items to acquire during his campaign; the Armour of Caledor and the mighty Star Lance. Plus, he has two mount options. First, he can ride his unique Elven Steed Mautererius, but eventually he will be able to unlock Minaithnir, a unique Star Dragon. This makes him the first High Elf Legendary Lord who can actually ride a dragon.
Indeed, Imrik’s campaign focuses heavily on dragons. According to Creative Assembly, his campaign will allow him to; “discover the locations of unique Dragons,” and give him; “the opportunity to tame them in battle,” in order to recruit them into his faction. He also has two unique Rites to use in campaign. The Greater Invocation of Vaul grants his entire faction Flaming Attacks and allows his Dragons to use their breath attacks more often. Plus, his Invocation of Eldrazor grants bonus XP to all Lords and Heroes in his faction. However, using it will impose a diplomatic penalty with other High Elf factions.
