Madden 20 Bowl Winner Crowned as Joke Battles DCroft for Championship
After several weeks of tournament play featuring some of the best football video game players on the planet, there’s an official Madden 20 Bowl winner! It started with 16 competitors and ultimately there was one left standing as the champion. Joke would go on to defeat DCroft for the latest edition of the annual tournament, capturing the glory, cash, and eventually his very own championship belt.
Joke defeats DCroft to become Madden 20 Bowl winner
Four groups began Round Robin play in these Madden Bowl playoffs just four days ago. On Saturday, it was time for the semifinals and finals matchups. The top seed from Group D was DCroft. He’d go on to defeat Group C’s No. 3 seed CleffTheGod by a final of 21-14.
In the other matchup, Group A No. 1 seed Joke took out Pavan, the No. 3 seed from Group A, 17-9. That set up a matchup featuring DCroft in his first career EA Major Final and Joke in his second.
Once the two met up in the final game of the Madden 20 Bowl, Joke’s defense was ready. He was able to keep the hottest player in the tournament from scoring once. Joke would go on to record a 17-0 shutout to capture the title and Madden superstardom.
There’s not much more to say than that. Following his big win, Joke tweeted out his thoughts about the victory saying he can finally call himself a champion. Joke also gave thanks to all those who supported him through his Madden gaming season.
Derwin James shows off championship belt
Since this year’s Madden 20 Bowl took place under different circumstances, it meant remote matchups. That also meant the winner couldn’t enjoy his championship belt just yet. As part of the celebration, none other than Los Angeles Chargers star and Madden fan Derwin James congratulated Joke and hoisted the belt in his honor. He let the champ know he’ll be mailing that belt out soon.
Joke was able to defeat some of the best competitors around en route to his championship. After advancing from the Group A Round Robin, he would best Drini in their Quarter-Finals battle. From there, Joke went on to defeat Pavan in the Semi-Finals to reach the Final.
In addition to that shiny championship belt, Joke also won the top cash prize of $65,000 for his tournament. He also puts his name in the history books as the Madden 20 Bowl winner and possibly one of the best of all time. Congrats to Joke for a great run!
