The Arena of Valor Switch Beta is starting very soon, Tencent announced this morning. The closed beta will be held in both North America and Europe, giving players from both regions a chance to check out the game for the first time. If you aren’t aware of what Arena of Valor is, it is easily one of the most popular MOBAs in the entire world. The game comes from the same Chinese publisher, Tencent, that owns League of Legends.
The game has immense popularity in Asia, which is why it’s exciting to finally have the Arena of Valor Switch Beta so close. The closed beta will be starting in one week on June 28th. Being that it is closed, you will need to register in order to participate in the testing period. You can register for the closed beta at this link. Even though it is really close, it is still possible to sign up for a chance to get in. Tencent hasn’t revealed when registration will close so act fast.
The Arena of Valor Switch Beta will allow many Western gamers to check out the game for the very first time. The closed beta will have Switch owners duke it out in classic five on five MOBA matches from an isometric perspective. Despite being traditionally a mobile game, Arena of Valor features the classic three-lane combat you’d expect from a MOBA.
The Arena of Valor Switch Beta will also feature some of the Switch-exclusive features. The Nintendo Switch version of the game will have upgraded graphics from its mobile counterpart to look nicer on the console handheld hybrid. It will also feature controller support. There has been no confirmation if it will also have the touch controls in handheld mode. Finally, if you participate in the closed beta, you will be rewarded with some exclusive skins for the full free game.
While you wait for the Arena of Valor Switch Beta to arrive next week, we recommend checking out our exclusive interview with FFXIV Producer Naoki Yoshida in which we inquire about the possibility of it also coming to Nintendo Switch.
