We’ve heard rumors for a long time now about the possible development of a new Gran Turismo game for PlayStation 5. So, it would not be a huge surprise if Gran Turismo 7 is under development. But now, we have an additional reason to believe it is happening. Sony seems to have made an inadvertent slip which referenced the possible game.
What Sony Said About Gran Turismo 7
Recently, the PlayStation Brazil account on Twitter posted a poll asking players to pick between a number of games in a list as their favorite for playing with other people on the living room couch. There were four games on the list. Three of them were well-known: Just Dance 2020, Knack II and FIFA 20. But the last one was Gran Turismo 7.
By itself, this wouldn’t necessarily amount to much. But it comes hot on the heels of another possible leak from yesterday. That leak came from racing cockpit manufacturer Next Level Racing. In an Instagram post, they featured a Gran Turismo 7 logo for a supposedly forthcoming game.
Between the two, the second leak is actually more likely to be a viable one, despite the company’s subsequent claims to the contrary. While the PlayStation Brazil account is still running the poll in question, they completely replaced the original tweet. When they did, they changed the name of the fourth game to Gran Turismo Sport.
This would seem to confirm the suspicions that the original post simply contained a typo. Whether or not that typo is meaningful, however, is up for debate. Someone could have mistyped simply while thinking about how much they want there to be a Gran Turismo 7. But someone also could have mistyped because they have knowledge of such a game.
