Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 3 is nearing its end, and today, Activision officially announced the imminent launch date of Season 4. With the release of a new “The Story So Far” trailer, which recaps the events of the game’s story campaign, the publisher formally announced the new fourth season. Modern Warfare Season 4 is due to start on the 3rd of June, in less than one week’s time.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 4
Activision has yet to reveal any details about what Modern Warfare Season 4 will include. However, based on the format of the last three seasons, players can expect a bevy of new maps, most likely three new weapons, and one or more new Operators. Of course, there will also be a new Battle Pass and a wide range of new cosmetics and store bundles. Given that Season 3 was relatively light on content explicitly for Call of Duty: Warzone, it’s also possible that Season 4 could deliver more Warzone-centric content.
For now, the only teaser for Season 4 is the apparent addition of Captain Price as a playable Operator. While not yet confirmed, Price appears on the Season 4 promotional image; a spot which has typically been occupied by new Operators in previous seasons. The “Story So Far” trailer also ends with new footage of Price setting out on a mission, which hints at him coming to the game as an Operator. If so, he wouldn’t be the first character from the Modern Warfare campaign to become a playable Operator. Season 3 saw the addition of Alex, one of the three campaign protagonists.
With Modern Warfare Season 4 due to begin on the 3rd of June, fans should expect to get more details about what’s on the way very soon. Indeed, there is now less than a week to go before the season’s launch; not much time for Activision to release trailers and so forth.
