Bounty of Blood: A Fistful of Redemption is the third story DLC for Borderlands 3, and was first announced last month. The DLC is set to release on the 25th of June, in a couple of weeks’ time. Ahead of that release, Gearbox has now released 15 minutes of gameplay footage to showcase the game’s upcoming DLC content.
The Borderlands 3 Bounty of Blood DLC
“You’ll travel to the harsh desert planet of Gehenna to claim a bounty on The Devil Riders,” explains Gearbox; “a vicious gang of bandits mounted atop fearsome beasts. The Devil Riders have been terrorising the small town of Vestige, and you’ll have to team up with the locals if you want any hope of administering some frontier justice.”
Bounty of Blood will be the third of four planned story DLCs for Borderlands 3 which are due to release throughout the year. While the first and second DLCs each featured the return of a familiar face from a previous game, Bounty of Blood will feature an entirely new cast of characters. It may prove to be unique in this regard; after all, a teaser for the fourth DLC appears to indicate the return of Krieg, the DLC Vault Hunter from Borderlands 2.
In addition, the new DLC will also be the third piece of new content to come to Borderlands 3 this month. Ahead of the launch of Bounty of Blood, Gearbox is launching two major additions to the game; Takedown at the Guardian Breach and the Mayhem 2.0 rework. Both of these were originally meant to launch on the 4th of June. However, their release date was postponed in solidarity with the recent BLM protests. As such, they will now be releasing tomorrow, on the 11th of June. After that, Borderlands 3 players will only have to wait two weeks for the launch of Bounty of Blood.
