CD Projekt Red has taken steps to amend the release date of Cyberpunk 2077 as displayed on Steam, PlayStation, and elsewhere, which have been displaying incorrectly since the game’s release date was recently delayed. This incorrect date was only one day off, displaying the release date as the 20th instead of the 19th.
Incorrect Cyberpunk 2077 Release Date on Steam & PlayStation
The Global Community Lead of CD Projekt Red, Marcin Momot, posted earlier today on Twitter that the Cyberpunk 2077 release date has now been amended on Steam. This date had been displaying incorrectly as the 20th of November, rather than the 19th. This comes following a second delay to the Cyberpunk 2077 release date, pushing the release from September to November. According to CD Projekt Red, the game is actually complete. However, the studio feels that it needs more time to polish and fix bugs before release.

The date is still displaying incorrectly on PlayStation, but CD Projekt Red are reportedly working to fix this. In response to a fan tweet, Momot has stated that; “We’re working on changing it everywhere. It takes time, though”. As such, fans eagerly awaiting the release of the game should rest assured that it will be launching at the same time, on the same day, on all platforms. It’s currently unknown whether Cyberpunk 2077 will release before or after the upcoming next-gen consoles. However, the game is part of the Xbox Smart Delivery program.
What this means is that anybody who buys Cyberpunk 2077 for the Xbox One will also be able to play the game for free on the Xbox Series X. This applies to both physical and digital versions of the game. Sony has yet to offer and equivalent program for the PS5. However, with the attention which the Smart Delivery Program has been getting, it’s entirely possible that the company will do so.
