Thanks to popular social media platform TikTok, NBA 2K is keeping fans supplied with glimpses of the upcoming 2K21 game. That’s included teasers for some of the 2K21 soundtrack artists and the cover reveal dates. We recently got a look at NBA 2K21 face scans for some of the players in the game. There’s also a glimpse of dunk motion captures in another new video.
TikTok Video Shows New NBA 2K21 Face Scans
With the coronavirus pandemic going on, 2K had to get clever and keep things safe to get players for scans. It appears that the minds behind NBA 2K had to take a special mobile capture studio on the road in order to get their NBA 2K21 face scans. In the newest 2K TikTok video on Saturday (June 27), we see some views of that studio. There’s also quick computer screenshots, and then some real-life NBA stars showing their emotions.
The NBA players we see include Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Steven Adams, Nikola Jokic, Brandon Ingram, Rui Hachimura, Andre Drummond, Bol Bol, and Bam Adebayo. Check out the quick video below to see the players all giving their best mouth wide open expressions as captures for the game.
New motion capture dunks coming to 2K21
One way to give a sports game a new feel in terms of gameplay is to update the moves. With NBA 2K21, that will obviously include dunks. It’s always important to keep those creative and fresh so they don’t feel the same or outdated. In a new video, we see behind the scenes motion capture footage for dunks in PS5 and Xbox Series X.
In a previous PlayStation 5 game announcement trailer, gamers saw Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson dunking. However, those particular mo-cap dunks will bring some new style to the game. Still, we’ve yet to see too much in the way of gameplay or other elements of how the movement will flow on the game.
On Tuesday (June 30), we’ll get the first of the NBA 2K21 cover reveals. That could very well be the Standard Edition of the game and feature Zion Williamson. Two dates after that will reveal other game covers and we’re hoping to see a trailer soon after.
