Call of Duty has had far more than its fair share of leaks in the last year, and the upcoming 2020 title appears to be no different. The title, which is expected to be entitled Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, could be revealed very soon, if a new leak is to be believed. In fact, the leak also indicates that the game could have a particularly massive download size.
Call of Duty 2020 Download Size Details Leak
Activision still has yet to officially announce the Call of Duty 2020 game. However, a series of leaks have made some details about the game very clear; such as that it is likely to be a reboot of sorts for the Black Ops series. Recent leaks and theories have suggested that its cold war setting could even involve the assassination of JFK.
This time, the leak isn’t just something being shared on social media, however. This time, the game actually leaked on the Microsoft Store, or rather, its upcoming alpha did. This alpha, titled with the codename “The Red Door,” wasn’t available for purchase, but did offer the option for people to enter a redemption code. “There is more than one truth,” reads the game’s description; “If you go looking for answers, be ready to question everything and accept that nothing will ever be the same. The Red Door awaits, do you dare step through it?”
One major detail revealed by this accidental leak is the file size of the game’s alpha; a whopping 81.65 GB. Call of Duty has acquired a reputation lately for extremely large file sizes. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has grown repeatedly post-launch, prompting criticism from some players. If the upcoming game’s alpha alone is almost 100 GB, that may not bode well for the full size of the game itself. However, at the very least, fans may get to find out more very soon. If the alpha’s store listing is already up on the Microsoft Store, an actual announcement for the game could be coming in the near future.
