The EA Sports UFC 4 fighter ratings have started to roll out as of Monday, as they unveiled the first 10 fighters in the bottom 50. Amongst them are former women’s champion Ronda Rousey who left for WWE to become a professional wrestler. Also included are names like Dustin Poirier and Cody Garbrandt. Here’s a look at what the bottom of the top 50 fighters got as far as ratings.
EA Sports UFC 4 fighter ratings 41 to 50 revealed
It seemed like forever but we finally saw our first UFC 4 trailer weeks ago during UFC 251 fight day. Not much longer after those reveals, came a lengthier gameplay trailer and discussion video. Now we’re learning about fighter ratings and rankings.
Over the next 10 days, the EA Sports UFC 4 fighter ratings will all be revealed. On Monday, it was fighters ranked 41 through 50. That includes former UFC Bantamweight Champion Cody Garbrandt. He won the title in December 2016 and held it for almost a year. Garbrandt is ranked No. 46 overall in the upcoming game.
The list includes women’s fighters in addition to men. Former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey holds the No. 44 spot, while rising Strawweight competitor Tatiana Suarez is No. 45 overall.
Former interim UFC Lightweight Champion Dustin Poirier is also on the list at No. 43. He claimed the belt in 2019 by defeating Max Holloway but ultimately lost in a title fight to Khabib Nurmagomedov months later.
Fans are already debating and dismantling the EA Sports UFC 4 fighter ratings. In particular, Dustin Poirier is currently ranked No. 8 on the UFC website’s best pound-for-pound fighters. Tatiana Suarez ranks at No. 7 on the women’s pound-for-pound list. Meanwhile, Cody Garbrandt is No. 3 in the rankings for Bantamweight fighters.
UFC game has new star rating system and fighter attributes
With the new EA Sports UFC 4 fighter ratings also comes a new rating system. They’ve given each fighter a star value from one to five to represent overall ability in the game. Along with this, they’ll give a star rating for each fighter’s stand up, ground game, health, and moves. You can see how those look for the 10 fighters revealed in the rankings above here at EA’s website.
The concept is to allow players to determine a fighter’s strengths and weaknesses quickly. That will help in figuring out strategy during fights.
EA also mentions they added a number of new attributes for fighters. These are to help “accommodate new gameplay features” and give “a more realistic representation of diverse fighting styles” in UFC.
Here they are, per the EA UFC 4 notes:
- Punch Speed / Kick Speed – Punches and kicks are split in terms of their speed.
- Punch Power / Kick Power – Punches and kicks are split in terms of the damage they cause.
- Clinch Striking – Supporting the brand new clinch system.
- Ground Striking – Supporting the brand new ground and pound system.
- Cardio – Replaces strike stamina and ground stamina.
- Recovery – Replaces heart and toughness.
Much like other sports games, fighters will improve in terms of their various ratings based on real-world performance. EA mentioned that once major UFC events have taken place, they’ll be making updates to the game to reflect any new attribute or move updates for fighters.
