The latest leak in the world of Xbox is a huge one. Judging by some recent product packaging, there may be an “Xbox Series S” on the way. What is the “S” version of the next gen console and how do we know about it? Read on to learn more about this exciting new leak.
What is Xbox Series S?
Take a look at the following tweet. In it are some leaked images of a white version of the next gen Xbox controller:
If you read through the info on the packaging, you will see that it mentions an “Xbox Series S.”
While we do not know for sure what it means, some people believe the “S” may stand for streaming. Chances are also good that this may be a less expensive but also less powerful version of the next gen Xbox.
Although another version of Xbox Series X to choose from is exciting, many fans also have commented that it will just add to the confusion regarding Microsoft’s naming conventions for consoles. “Xbox Series X” was already confusing enough. Now that confusion will multiply with the “S” version.
In any case, at this point, this is still a rumor. Microsoft has yet to confirm the existence of this version of the console. But it seems entirely reasonable that the “S” version should exist. So, we will probably hear some official word soon.
