EA Sports UFC 4 Patch 2.02 Fixes Issues With Takedowns, Updates Fighter Movesets, and More

EA Sports UFC 4 has released a new patch update as of Friday, August 21. It’s UFC 4 patch 2.02 and brings a pretty extensive list of fixes and updates for the new mixed martial arts game. Among them are fixes or updates for fighter records, movesets, takedowns, body damage tuning, and more. Here are the latest details.

EA Sports UFC 4 patch 2.02 nerfs Marathon issue, fixes shooting takedowns, and more

Per the EA Forum announcements about the game, the EA Sports UFC 4 patch 2.02 update officially went live on Friday. In particular, the aim was to address gameplay feedback they received from the community.

One thing they specifically mention is they nerfed the Marathoner perk that gave an “unintended major boost to stamina regeneration” for any fighters that had the perk. The patch update should make it so gamers aren’t able to take advantage of that particular issue any more.

There were two major issues that were affecting all of the shooting takedowns (including power takedowns) that gamers attempted in the game. These issues related to holding the movement input for too long or pressing striking modifier buttons. With the UFC 4 patch 2.02, they updated the game to help gamers “deny more driving and late denials on takedowns.”

There was another exploit involving Cage Back Clinch drives which developers fixed. Additionally, developers fixed the Von Flue Choke stamina issue. With this issue, the attacker and defender stamina levels were swapped, yet the fighter who had less stamina had the advantage.

Update tuned strike damage, fighter movesets and records

In addition, the EA Sports UFC patch 2.02 tuned several other things in the game. Those include Cage Guillotine chain progress, Side Control strike damage, and Body strike damage. Gamers should notice the difference now during their various fights.

E A developers updated a number of fighters’ movesets in the game. They include Amanda Nunes, Ronda Rousey, and Paulo Costa.

  • Gaethje
  • Sandhagen
  • Amanda Nunes
  • Germaine de Randamie
  • Paulo Costa
  • Ronda Rousey
  • Valentina Shevchenko
  • Johnny Walker
  • Dan Hooker
  • Eddie Alvarez
  • John Lineker

Fighting legend Kimbo Slice got an update as far as his grappling rating in EA’s UFC 4. The new patch updates certain fighter records as well, based on events any fighters were part of prior to Aug. 14, 2020. That’s when EA officially released the game for the masses to begin battling it out in the Octagon, in backyards, or elsewhere.

The new UFC 4 patch 2.02 update should automatically install when players launch the game (if their console is connected online). The new UFC 4 game is available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
