As Infinity Ward has done in previous seasons, the studio today launched Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 5 Reloaded; a major secondary content release for the second half of Season 5. The season expansion features a new weapon, a new Operator, and new game modes for both Modern Warfare and Warzone.
The New Content in Modern Warfare Season 5 Reloaded
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 5 Reloaded went live on all platforms earlier today, bringing with it a sizable content expansion for the ongoing season. Activision also announced an upcoming global event known as ‘Games of Summer,’ which will be launching as part of Season 5 Reloaded on the 28th of August. For the meanwhile, however, players have plenty of new content to get to grips with.
Perhaps the headline feature of Season 5 Reloaded is the FiNN LMG, an all-new light machine gun. You can acquire the FiNN by completing an in-game challenge, or alternatively, you can get a blueprint variant of the new LMG in the new Mainframe store bundle. An ultra-light LMG, according to Activision, the FiNN has exceptional recoil, making it more accurate than most other LMGs. Indeed, Activision describes it as; “allowing for a unique playstyle that further blurs the line between assault rifle and LMG.”
Another new feature is the addition of a new Coalition Operator known as Morte. This Italian gunslinger is a former paratrooper, according to his backstory. As for new game modes, Season 5 Reloaded features several. First up, Call of Duty: Warzone is getting the new King Slayer game mode, a battle-royale-scale Team Deathmatch. In this mode, the circle doesn’t collapse, but rather moves around the battlefield. Furthermore, the top-scoring player on each team will appear as a ‘king’ marker on the Tac-Map and players will get bonus points and a free Killstreak for taking them down.
Modern Warfare multiplayer is getting a couple of new modes in the new content release too. First is Gunfight Tournament, which is finally making its return. In fact, players will now be able to compete in the pitch area of Verdansk’s Stadium as a new map. The other new mode is Ground War Reinforce, a variant of Ground War which features three flags and only allows players to respawn after their team captures a flag.
