With the Madden 21 game having just recently arrived in widespread release, it’s brought some of the lowest reviews ever for the popular franchise. As of this report, the game has a 69 overall rating at Metacritic for the Xbox One, and just a 62 overall for PlayStation 4. Those are the critical reviews, though, as the User Scores show much harsher numbers. With that said, a large Madden 21 September title update has been revealed with numerous fixes for the game.
Launch day update details
On Aug. 31, EA released a new Gridiron Notes detailing all of the changes that came along with the first update on Aug. 28. Here’s a look at the various launch day updates that were included for Face of the Franchise, Ultimate Team, Superstar KO, and general fixes.

That was only released day. Despite reporting popularity with the new The Yard mode, there were a lot more issues that need to be resolved. Those are across pretty much all areas of the game.
Madden 21 September Title Update to fix gameplay, game mode issues
The Madden 21 September title update will address issues with gameplay including pass-rushing, defensive coverage, tackling, blocking, and throwing out of the sack. In addition, there will be general fixes and tuning adjustments. Those will include issues with QBs, ball carriers, and receivers for RAC-catch win-chances.

They also detail updates for all game modes including Ultimate Team, Superstar KO, Franchise, Face of the Franchise, and The Yard. Based on the notes, they are planning to release an announcement soon on whatβs coming as far as the first of three planned updates for Franchise mode. This continues to be the biggest online complaint amongst many outspoken Madden gamers, so it should be interesting to see where this goes.
That said, it’s clear that the Madden 21 September title update should be quite extensive. Based on the horrible reviews that the game has received, it appears the developers have their work cut out for them, but here’s to hoping that these improvements get things on the right track.
EA anticipates releasing the title update on Sept. 10. Check out the full Gridiron Notes here to see all of the changes anticipated for the game.
