Call of Duty Games of Summer: Marksman Challenge is Now Live

The fifth and final Trial of the ongoing ‘Games of Summer‘ Call of Duty global event is now live in both Modern Warfare and Warzone; Marksman Challenge. With its launch, all of the event’s Trials are now playable, and will remain so until the event ends on the 7th of September.

Games of Summer Trial #5: Marksman Challenge

The Call of Duty Games of Summer event began last week, with the first of its five Trials launching on the 28th of August. After Gun Course, Infinity Ward launched a new Trial each day, offering players a new event to compete in. Each of the five Trials is a solo challenge in which players can earn bronze, silver, or gold medals. Every medal earned by players contributes to an overall national tally; the top-scoring countries are displayed each day on an event leaderboard. (With scores weighted by player numbers so as to put all nations on an even playing field.)

Marksman Challenge is the latest – and last – new Trial to launch in Games of Summer. Taking place on a custom map, the Challenge provides players with an HDR sniper rifle, with which they must hit long-range targets that come in waves. To complicate matters, players are also against the clock, and every missed shot burns time from the counter. Each hit earns players points, and to get a medal, they must score enough points before time runs out. 3,400 points will get you Bronze. Silver, meanwhile, requires 3,900. Finally, you won’t score Gold unless you reach 4,400 points.

Now that all of the Trials are live in Games of Summer, players have just under one week to compete. The event is due to end on the 7th of September; the day before the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War multiplayer reveal. With around five days left, players wanting to compete and represent their country should put in as much time as they can.
