Update 09/02/2020: Shortly after the publication of this article, Riot publicly acknowledged the problem with Omen and temporarily disabled the Agent in-game until they have a fix. “Hopefully tomorrow,” reads the official statement.
Earlier today, Riot Games rolled out Patch 1.07 for Valorant, featuring a range of fixes, changes, and balance updates. However, alongside the official content, it also seems to have introduced a rather significant new bug. Players are reporting a new Omen glitch following the update which can cause the agent to become completely invincible.
The Valorant Patch 1.07 Omen Glitch
Valorant Patch 1.07 does include a few direct changes to the game’s Agents; Sage and Killjoy have been nerfed, while Viper and Breach have gotten improvements. The patch notes make no mention of Omen, who doesn’t seem to have gotten any attention this time around. However, as some gamers have been finding, the patch seems to have included some unintentional changes to the agent. A problematic Omen glitch has been reported on social media, with video footage to back it up.
At present, this glitch appears to be unique to Omen. Essentially, when he uses his Ultimate to gain brief invulnerability, that effect simply… doesn’t end. As a result, Omen becomes completely impossible to actually kill. Needless to say, this is quite a big issue, and one which Riot will no doubt have to act quickly to address. (Particularly if this bug starts to appear more frequently in the coming days.) It’s currently unknown what causes this glitch to trigger, so it’s unclear how frequently or infrequently it might occur.
This is not the first time that a patch has brought a major glitch to the game. Valorant Patch 1.06 had its own glitch when it launched which caused Raze’s rocket launcher to become extraordinarily powerful. This glitch was so bad that Riot had to temporarily remove Raze from the game in order to fix it. Hopefully, a fix for this new Omen glitch isn’t quite so serious to figure out. However, for now fans will have to wait and see.
