CD Projekt Red Shows Off Cyberpunk 2077 Ray Tracing Screenshots

Following the recent NVIDIA showcase, CD Projekt Red has revealed a series of new Cyberpunk 2077 screenshots, all taken on the new NVIDA GeForce RTX 30 series with ray tracing enabled. Needless to say, Cyberpunk 2077 has never looked so good. Indeed, this could well be the level of quality which could come to next-gen consoles, although not straight away.

Cyberpunk 2077 on the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series

CD Projekt Red posted a series of five new Cyberpunk 2077 screenshots on Twitter earlier today; all showing off the graphical power of the latest NVIDIA RTX series. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series will be the most powerful and most advanced graphics option available. As such, it’s no surprise that it makes Night City look spectacular. All of the screenshots also feature active ray tracing and DLSS 2.0.

The new screenshots offer a glimpse of the highest-quality available for Cyberpunk 2077 on PC. However, the game won’t, of course, be up to this level of quality on consoles – at least not at launch. Originally intended to launch months ago on current-gen consoles, Cyberpunk 2077 obviously won’t look quite this good on the Xbox One or PS4. While the next-gen consoles may offer an improved graphical performance, they still won’t be able to offer this level of detail. This is because the version of the game available on next-gen will be the same version which was designed for current-gen.

However, CD Projekt Red have confirmed that they are planning to release a free next-gen upgrade for the game sometime in early 2021. This update will be designed to push the game to take full advantage of the Xbox Series X and PS5 hardware; potentially boosting its graphical quality significantly. It remains to be seen whether it will be a match for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series, of course. However, whatever the case, console players should certainly look forward to its release.
