The Borderlands 3 Anniversary Celebration will soon be coming to an end, but before that, players have one last mini-event to take part in. The Making It Rain event is now live in-game, and will be active until 9:00 AM PDT on the 10th of September. That date will also be the end of the five-week event, but it will also coincide with the launch of the game’s final DLC.
Borderlands 3 Anniversary Celebration: Making It Rain
The Borderlands 3 Making It Rain mini-event was recently added to the game via a small patch. As the name implies, the event increases the amount of Cash drops for all enemies throughout the game. That includes standard enemies, as well as both Badass and Anointed enemies. Interestingly, the patch which implemented this event also included another increase to a certain drop chance; specifically, the loot drop chance for Bosses in Slaughters, Takedowns, and Trials.

Alongside these two elements, the patch includes alterations for three weapons in Borderlands 3. The Hellwalker, first of all, should now have higher damage. The Kaos, meanwhile, has both boosted damage and a boosted explosion radius on a successful kill. Finally, the Breath of the Dying has had several different changes; its DPS and orb projectile damage have gone up, as well as orb damage. The weapon’s orb collision radius is also larger now, to make it more likely to hit.
Making It Rain is the fifth and final mini-event in the Borderlands 3 Anniversary Celebration. The event has featured a series of week-long mini-events, leading up to the release of Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck. Set to launch on the 10th of September, following the conclusion of Making It Rain, this will be the fourth story DLC for Borderlands 3. It’s currently expected to be the game’s last major DLC as well. Of course, it’s the last entry on the game’s Season Pass, but additionally, Gearbox will soon be launching Godfall later this year.
