With the Madden 21 rush moves, gamers have access to more creativity than before. Basically, a number of moves can be performed together for unique combinations as you try to dodge the approaching defenders. In addition to the returning hurdle, serval other moves return along with a new rush move named the jurdle. In this guide, we’ll show how to hurdle in Madden 21 as well as juke, stiff arm, or even jurdle.
How to perform Madden 21 rush moves
Madden 21 rush moves will help you drastically not only with the running game but also receiving and scrambling with mobile quarterbacks. See how to slide in Madden in case you want to protect your QB on a rushing play.
Now for the rushing moves. Remember, you’ll advance and control your player’s direction using the Left Stick. The R2 (PS4) or RB (Xbox One) will provide a speed boost.
One of the most basic moves is the juke. This is basically a side-to-side fakeout-style move to throw a defender off balance and get past them.
Juke – Press Right Stick to the right and/or left to perform the juke and get past your opponent.
The stiff arm is a way to push defenders off you that get close by. This one is useful in potentially pushing a lone defender away and to the ground as you keep going with the ball.
Stiff Arm – Press X button (PS4) or A button (Xbox One) when a defender is in close range of your ball carrier. The ball carrier will hold the ball in one arm and use the other arm to push away the defender.
You can also spin away from a defender or group of defenders. A lot depends on timing and positioning, but it can work beautifully.
Spin – Press the Circle button (PS4) or B button (Xbox One) to spin as a defender is near you. The ball carrier can spin to either side depending on the direction you’re moving and pressing the Left Stick.
Once you’ve mastered that move, it can really help open up the field for your ball carrier.
How to Hurdle or Jurdle in the run game
A hurdle is exactly what you’d expect it to be. Your ball carrier will leap over the defender and be able to keep going. However, it’s also possible to get caught doing this move and tackled, or worse, fumble the ball.
Hurdle – Press the Triangle button (PS4) or Y button (Xbox One) to hurdle over an approaching defender.
Last but not least, is the jurdle. This is the new addition to Madden 21 rush moves. It’s basically a unique combo move.
To jurdle, all you need to do is press the Left Stick in the direction you’re moving and then press the Triangle (PS4) or Y button (Xbox One).
The video below shows you what it should look like when it works. It’s also mentioned that 99 Club member Christian McCaffrey is probably one of the best in the game at performing the move.
Also, keep in mind that the jurdle is a high-risk move that could make it easier to fumble. So it may be cool and flashy but not always the most practical idea for your run game.
