We Happy Few, the upcoming psychedelic survival/adventure game from developer Compulsion Games, launches on August 10 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. As with most games these days, those who pre-order We Happy Few can also score a few bonus perks, and in the below post those perks are outlined in full.
Pre-Order Bonus
No matter where you buy your copy of We Happy Few, all pre-orders will receive an exclusive in-game weapon: the ‘Jolly Brolly’ umbrella. Along with its unique-looking design, the Jolly Brolly also apparently comes with “advanced blocking capabilities” according to its official description, something which should help fend off any angry bobbies should they decide to swing their billy clubs at you.
In addition to the Jolly Brolly, those who pre-order from select retailers can also score a $10 discount, bringing the game’s final price down to $49.99 for the standard edition and $69.99 for the Deluxe Edition. The $10 discount only applies if you pre-order from either GameStop or Best Buy, but if you’re an Amazon Prime member you’ll definitely want to pre-order there instead since, with the Prime pre-order discount, Amazon’s pre-order price is $47.99 for the standard edition and $63.99 for the Deluxe Edition.
If, however, you happen to still have an active membership for Best Buy’s now defunct Gamer’s Club Unlocked program, a Best Buy pre-order is also a good deal since the $10 discount stacks with the 20 percent discount granted through the program. Sadly, since the GCU program has been cancelled, new users can’t enroll, but existing users can still take advantage of the perks until their enrollment period runs out.
Deluxe Edition
The Deluxe Edition of We Happy Few comes with the base game and its season pass. The specific contents of the season pass haven’t yet been outlined, but Compulsion Games promises there will be three pieces of paid post-launch content in total, each of which will introduce players to “Wellington Wells’ most notorious residents.”
Time Capsule Collector’s Edition
For the true die-hard fans out there, Compulsion Games is also offering a special Time Capsule Collector’s Edition. The Collector’s Edition doesn’t include a copy of the game, but it does contain a number of exclusive real-life collector’s items including a series of propaganda posters, a sticker pack, an ‘Uncle Jack’ alarm clock, an 11-inch bobby mask, a plexi sign lamp, an illustrated handbook, and a copy of the game’s soundtrack on 150g vinyl. As of this writing, the Time Capsule Collector’s Edition cannot yet be pre-ordered, but Compulsion Games says that pre-orders should become available shortly.
We Happy Few will certainly be an unnerving game to play, and for more unnerving video game happenings, be sure to read about the creepy mannequins found in PUBG’s new Sanhok map, or the giant whale that can be found in Battlefield V.
