In terms of Madden 21 passing skills, simply throwing the ball to any receive might seem effective, but having different passes will help. Two in particular that are worth mastering the use of are the low and high pass. These will generally help you have a better chance of getting it to your receiver in different situations. Here’s how to throw a low or high pass in Madden 21 as needed.
How to throw a high pass in Madden 21 passing
The Madden 21 passing basically involves calling your play and then watching for which receiver is open or becoming open. From there, you press the corresponding button for that receiver on your controller and the QB passes. Of course, if your star quarterback is getting hit, that can throw things off.
The key thing is finding an open or capable receiver for the pass. With a low or high pass you can help them avoid the defense better. For example, a high pass will sail over the heads of defenders and hopefully into the hands of an athletic receiver or tight end.
To throw a high pass in Madden 21, hold L1 (PS4) or LB (Xbox One) as you press the button for the receiver you want to pass to. Check out the clip below for an example of the high pass.
How to throw a low pass in the game
In the Madden 21 passing, you’ll want to be able to use a low pass to get the ball to the middle of the field, or to a receiver just beyond the first down line. Most likely, these will be situations where you’re less concerned with getting yards after the catch. It may be a situation where you need to convert a third down or successfully complete a pass.
To throw a low pass in Madden 21, hold L2 (PS4) or LT (Xbox One) as you press the button for the receiver you want to pass to. The video clip below shows off a successful low pass.
You may end up seeing the low and high pass come up in challenges with Madden 21 passing. We saw them in Madden 20 Ultimate Team along with other missions that involved using lateral passes and various rushing moves.
