Two of the popular Madden Ultimate Team promotions have returned now that Week 1 of the football has concluded. One of those is the Team of the Week which brings the stars of the gridiron upgraded items for MUT rosters. The other is Madden 21 Heavyweights which gives the bigger players on the frontlines their credit due with upgraded items. Here’s a look at both of these programs’ first groups of items.
Madden 21 Heavyweights returns for MUT
For the new season of Ultimate Team, EA’s Madden crew is doing something called “Wild Card Wednesday.” That means they’ll bring out special content on Wednesdays which could be an entire group of offensive linemen. That’s what they did for this Wednesday (Sept. 16) with the first Madden 21 Heavyweights group.
It includes five players that gamers could acquire to serve as a formidable front line on offense. Among the options are left tackle Laremy Tunsil, right tackle Lane Johnson, and left guard Richie Incognito. Each of the Madden 21 Heavyweights has an 89 overall rating.
Madden 21 Heavyweights are available through packs at the store. They currently go for 3,800 Training per pack with one 89 overall player inside each.
The Heavyweights have Quicksell values of 3,600 Training. This could allow gamers with enough Madden Training to get back some of the currency and try again (re-roll) for the player they want.
Team of the Week 1 features new aspect
The Madden 21 Team of the Week 1 brings players who performed well in Week 1 some brand new items. However, it also includes a Player of the Week, as well as a Hero for Offense and Defense. Interestingly, the Hero players are not active NFL players, but rather stars of the past.
For Week 1, the Offense Hero is former Texans back, Arian Foster, while the Defense Hero is former 49ers player Bryant Young. That said, the Player of the Week was Da’Vante Adams, who is active and helped Green Bay defeat the Vikings.
A total of six players were chosen as Team of the Week 1 representatives including Russell Wilson, Josh Jacobs, and 99 Club member Stephen Gilmore. These players not only get a special TOTW card but their Power Up items in MUT get a boost of a point each.
Here’s a look at the Madden 21 TOTW 1 players’ cards:
Gamers will need to collect those specific players to put into exchange sets to get the Arian Foster, Bryant Young, and DaVante Adams cards. In addition, there are TOTW Packs for 40,000 Coins or 700 Points and 9x TOTW Bundles for 5,850 Points at the Store.

New TOTW Challenges
In addition to the above, there is also three new Game of the Week Challenges. With one of these, gamers will earn a TOTW Token. Upon collecting 14 of those tokens this season, gamers can exchange for a high-rated Team of the Year Player.
Another new aspect of TOTW is the Hot Streak Challenge. Gamers who earn three Stars in this will earn a Hot Streak Token based on a specific player. If the player that the token is for ends up matching their previous game performance in their next game, there’s a “big payout” in MUT.
There’s also a Challenge to earn a random NAT TOTW Player for Week 1, which could help with your current MUT roster needs.
It probably goes without saying that gamers can also add any of the above player cards through buying or bidding at the Madden Auction House, although some will have higher price tags than others.
