With the upcoming launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 6, Warzone players are also in for some new content, and in this case, that content is a major map expansion for Verdansk. The Warzone map will be getting a full underground metro network; the Verdansk Subway System, which offers players an alternate way to traverse the map.
Warzone Season 6 – The Verdansk Subway System
The Verdansk Subway System will be coming to Call of Duty: Warzone very soon, with the launch of Season 6. The Subway features seven stations situated around the Verdansk map; Lozoff Pass, Verdansk International Airport, Torsk Bloc, Verdansk Train Station, Barakett Shopping District, Downtown/Tavorsk District, and finally the Verdansk Center. Each station has the same layout, but only some will be open in each match. In addition to providing access to the subway, the stations may also contain Supply Boxes, Contracts, or other items.
The subway system gives players a way to travel between stations, allowing players to navigate the map faster than ever before. Of course, the fixed locations of the stations will likely make them prime spots for ambushes. Trains travel clockwise or counterclockwise around the map. However, as the circle closes, stations will be subject to circle collapse, effectively removing them from the network. Interestingly, the subway won’t move if players are fighting onboard, or between the train and the station platform.
Interestingly, this means that once players board a train safely, they will have a brief period of downtime where other enemies cannot reach them. The stations, however, are likely to be fiercely contested. Each one features multiple entrances and exits, with emergency ladders to the surface, flanking tunnels, and detour routes. The close-quarters nature of the station interiors also makes them ideal for close combat and short-range firearms. Expect shotguns, grenades, and melee weapons to be perfect here.
