NBA 2K released NBA 2K21 Patch Update 1.03 as of Monday, bringing numerous additions, changes, and fixes to various parts of the game. They range from addressing a few things in MyLeague/MyGM to numerous aspects of gameplay or general parts of the game. Here’s a look at some of what the newest update brings to the game.
NBA 2K21 patch update 1.03 general and gameplay
The NBA 2K21 shot meter and shooting system have been a talking point since the game’s arrival. This latest update brings a few more fixes or changes to that. Due to community feedback, 2K developers have now increased the size of the shot meter, per today’s Courtside Report.
Pull-up jumpers won’t be as effective, as developers lowered that in the update. However, they also increased responsive for certain post move shots. They also fixed a shooting exploit where holding the Pro Stick before receiving the ball made it easier to aim shots.
Dribble moves for Park are now performed on L3 with a left stick click. This is said to make dribbling controls more consistent. Additionally, we noticed an improvement as far as reducing speed for a player’s first step out of many dribble moves.
More moves can result in ankle breakers or defensive reactions now too.
Many other general glitches or gameplay issues received fixes. They have fixed that issue were CPU bigs were matching up on guards, so hopefully, we’ll see fewer mismatches in 2K21.
Some players were getting removed from online matches after greening shots “due to divergent settings.” This shouldn’t happen any longer. Neither should the issue where existing tattoos disappeared after applying new tattoos.
Additionally, devs improved the frame rate for the Nintendo Switch and fixed a PC issue where users might get stuck at the main menu Pro Stick Aiming selector screen.
MyCareer, MyTeam, and MyGM Changes
Just in time for the NBA Finals, 2K now has a new NBA Playoffs Mode bracket in MyLeague/MyGM to match the start of the current playoffs.
Additionally, in MyTeam there is now a new page on the back of player cards. This will show what Upgradeable Badges that player has available. The community also suggested single-player Triple Threat and Triple Threat Online difficulties needed adjustment, so that has been done.
If that’s not enough, MyCareer Story mode got a lot of changes, upgrades, or fixes. That included resolving a glitch where a player could skip the story between high school games and it would get rid of their injury heading to the NBA. Also, an issue where the coach wasn’t adding players into OT games in high school has been fixed.
Of course, there’s a lot more, and that’s all available at the latest Courtside Report here. Check out our NBA 2K page to get more news and how-to help for the game.
