PS5 Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered Revealed

You remember a few days ago when we reported that PS5 Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is a new game, not a free upgrade? You probably were wondering what a “new game” entailed. At the time, info was pretty vague. But now we know a lot more about what to expect, as the remaster has at last been revealed.

Check Out the Details on PS5 Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered

PlayStation made the following tweet:

The text says, “The power of PS5 elevates Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered to new heights. Learn about ray-tracing enhancements, Peter Parker’s graphical updates, and more: http://play.st/2Sq2IRf. Included with Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales: Ultimate Edition on PS5. #BeYourself.”

Following the link takes you to a blog post from PlayStation which provides additional information. The post explains, “The team has done the painstaking work of updating the city’s environment to take advantage of the new console. Beyond improved models and materials, one of the biggest things we have brought to the game is ray-traced reflections and ambient shadows. We now have true reflections on the windows of buildings, and it looks stunning with our new skies and weather.”

Spider-Man will be getting some "Fantastic" content in the coming weeks!

Additionally, the team brought aesthetic improvements to the characters, making them more life-like and detailed. The post continues with a surprise announcement, “We have recast the face of Peter Parker. We loved working with John Bubniak on the original game; however, to get a better match to Peter Parker/Spider-Man actor Yuri Lowenthal’s facial capture, we have cast Ben Jordan to be the face model for Peter Parker on the PS5 console.”

Other features you can look forward to include an enhanced 60fps frame rate via Performance Mode, “near-instant loading,” support for the full functionality of the DualSense controller, enhancements to photo mode, and Spatial 3D audio if you have compatible headphones. The game will also feature three new suits.

So, they weren’t kidding when they said that this really is like a “new game.” It sounds like they have really gone the distance making this remaster a fresh experience. Follow our PlayStation news for future updates on Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
