It’s a new month, which means PlayStation Plus subscribers have two more free games heading their way. If you already have PS Plus, look for these free PlayStation games within the week. If you’re not a subscriber, you may want to consider it.
You need a PS Plus subscription to play multiplayer games online, but the service has its perks. When you subscribe, you’ll get 100GB of cloud storage, free shipping on PlayStation orders and two free games a month. This month, those games are Vampyr and Need for Speed: Payback.
Grab these between October 6 and November 2 if you want to get them for free.
Vampyr
First, and rather fitting for October, is Vampyr, a 2018 release from the makers of Life is Strange. In this third-person action RPG, you play as Dr. Jonathan Reid, a London doctor and new vampire. You’ll try to help address a flu epidemic while resisting your newfound bloodlust.

As you’d expect from the studio who made Life is Strange, this is a game about choices. There’s plenty of action, but what really matters is the choices you make. Depending on what you do, the gameplay and story will change.
Need for Speed: Payback
The next free PlayStation game this month is Need for Speed: Payback. If you’re not in the mood for something as heavy as Vampyr, then this might be the game for you. Like the rest of the Need for Speed franchise, it’s a mindless, action-packed racing game.

Payback lets you explore a Las Vegas-inspired open world with three playable characters. There’s also an online multiplayer option if you want to race your friends or competitive strangers. Payback’s reviews were less than spectacular, but if you’re not paying for it, there’s little room to complain.
Games Available Until October 6
If you haven’t grabbed last month’s free games, you still have a little bit of time. You can download September’s titles for free until October 6, when the next two deals start. September’s offerings are both familiar names to many gamers: PUBG and Street Fighter V.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) did the massive battle royale thing before it was cool. Like Fortnite, you’ll play in an arena against one hundred other players until there’s just one left standing. A more precise shooter than some other battle royales, PUBG is an exciting experience for any competitive gamer.
Street Fighter V came out in 2016 and is still getting new updates. This fifth installment of the legendary fighting game offers the same classic side-scrolling experience retro fans will love. If you’ve never played a Street Fighter game before, this one’s well worth the download.
Get These Free PlayStation Games While You Can
September’s games will be available until October 6, and October’s deals will last until November 2. If you don’t have PS Plus yet, you might want to go ahead and subscribe so you can download these titles.
Stay tuned later this month to find out about November’s free PS Plus games!
