With today’s launch of The Haunting of Verdansk event, both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone are getting a host of spooky new Halloween content. However, a new update also rolled out alongside the event, included in which was a brand-new weapon; the JAK-12 Shotgun.
Modern Warfare Season 6 Weapons: JAK-12 Shotgun
“Eat your heart out, shotgun collars,” writes Activision; “the fully automatic JAK-12 shotgun, available as part of the latest update, has enough firepower to pulverise an entire enemy squad into head cheese.”
The JAK-12 Shotgun comes to both Modern Warfare and Warzone as part of the same update which enabled The Haunting of Verdansk event. It is the latest addition to the games’ armoury to arrive during Season 6, and could quickly become a fan favourite. While other shotguns can feature fairly rapid fire rates, none can match that of the JAK-12 Shotgun. “The JAK-12 has an open bolt blowback system,” explains Activision; “allowing it to push lead out at a fire rate that is fater than any other weapon in its category.”
Not only that, but the JAK-12 also boasts an arsenal of formidable unique attachments. If you level this weapon up, you can unlock things like the 8 Round FRAG-12 Mag, which is loaded with explosive shells. (Explosive shells that do not trigger Trophy Systems, notably.) You can also get your hands on 32-Round Drum Mags, if you want to really take advantage of the top-tier fire rate. Equipped with that attachment, you won’t just have the fastest fire rate of any shotgun; you’ll also have the largest magazine capacity.
If you want to try out the new JAK-12 Shotgun, there are the usual two ways of doing so. Firstly, you can unlock the weapon by completing an in-game challenge. Alternatively, you can get a specific blueprint variant for the JAK-12 by purchasing the new “Lacedaemon” store bundle.
