Madden 21 King of the Hill Crowns Drini as Champion After Defeating Joke

Two of the best overall players in the world for Madden competitive gaming faced off in the Madden 21 King of the Hill finals on Tuesday night. It was pro gamer Drini taking on the reigning King of the Hill Joke with the championship trophy on the line. The two competitive players had a tight battle going into the fourth with Drini ultimately holding on to claim the trophy and prize money.

Drini wins Madden 21 King of the Hill competition

The Madden 21 King of the Hill was in Week 6 on October 20, with the championship match live streaming on Twitch and YouTube. Joke had proven himself a worthy contender after victories in the past several weeks. He bested Pavan 21-13 in Week 4 and then followed it up by a 14-7 win over Serious Moe last week. Now he’d face Drini who was looking for revenge after a previous loss to Joke in last year’s Madden Bowl.

Drini had the lead going into the fourth and was able to capitalize on a huge pass to Reggie Bush down the field late. That put him within scoring territory, but Drini didn’t cross the plane. Instead, he wisely opted to run some clock before being tackled. From there, he played the clock, running off as much time as he could, before adding a field goal with 21 seconds on the clock.

Joke had about 20 seconds to try to go over 80 yards and win with a touchdown. Unfortunately, Drini was too good to give up that sort of yardage late in the fourth. The win was in the books as the clock ultimately hit all zeros. Drini wins this final, 13-9 to become Madden 21 King of the Hill.

Drini preparing for MCS competition

After Drini’s big win on Tuesday, Scott Cole asked about the win. “When someone beats me in MCS, he’s on my list…I end up beating him here,” Drini said of his win. He also admitted this game was more of a test ahead of upcoming MCS competition.

“Obviously the money is good, and the trophy,” Drini added. He picks up $18,000 in prize money along with a sweet-looking trophy for the Madden 21 King of the Hill win in Week 6.

Drini mentioned he wants to get back on the same level he was a few years ago with Madden 19 when he won a belt. He’ll look to keep on practicing and grinding with Madden 21 to try to win the MCS belt which will be decided in February 2021.
