Madden 21 Player Ratings: Davante Adams, Dalvin Cook Move Closer to 99 Club as Brady Drops

The latest Madden 21 player ratings update has arrived, and several players are on the rise. They include Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams, and Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook. Both players gained thanks to their Week 9 performances. On the flip side, a few quarterbacks slid, including all-time great Tom Brady, who moved farther from returning to the 99 Club.

Davante Adams, Dalvin Cook rise in Madden 21 player ratings

When it comes to rushing this year, there are really two players near or at the top of the leaders. Derrick Henry is still a force to be reckoned with and has 843 yards of total rushing. However, the Vikings’ Dalvin Cook has 858 yards, to lead the way. He also has 12 touchdowns for the season, leading all running backs.

In the new Madden 21 player ratings update they indicate that Cook got 478 scrimmage yards and six touchdowns in just his last two games. In Week 9, he had 206 yards and two touchdowns. Basically, EA says he may be the best in the league at his position. His move up by one point to 96 is fitting as he approaches the Madden 99 Club.

Another offensive player inching even closer to that membership is the Packers’ Davante Adams. He racked up 10 receptions for 173 yards and a touchdown in Week 9. They note that it’s his third game in the season with over 150 yards. He’s also scored six times in the last three games. Due to “impressive and consistent production” Adams went up a point to become 97 OVR. Could he soon join the Saints’ Michael Thomas at 99 OVR?

Also on the move up is Kyler Murray, quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals. As EA notes, he’s one of the hottest QBs in the game at the moment. His versatile game includes rushing and passing, similar to a certain cover star. Murray moves up a point to 80 OVR.

Tom Brady, Matthew Stafford trending down?

Entering the season, there was a lot of excitement surrounding quarterback Tom Brady joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. As of Week 9, his new team is looking good at 6-3. What didn’t look good was the way Brady performed in that recent game.

Per EA Madden’s report, Brady’s three interceptions, zero touchdowns, and 40.35 passer rating were enough to drop him a point. Brady is now down to 94 OVR for his player rating. He was once a member of the coveted Madden 99 Club, back in the day.

Also moving down is the Detroit Lions’ Matthew Stafford. This season, the Lions are 3-5, which isn’t terrible, but like Brady, he didn’t have his best performance in Week 9. Stafford threw for 211 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. Basically, he’s seen his production drop or slow over the past several weeks. He now finds himself with an 82 OVR in the Madden 21 player ratings.
