There’s No Infinite Ammo For Battlefield V Aerial Vehicles

Battlefield V is bringing a whole new system for aerial battles this year. Along with the vibe of World War 2 dogfights and the presence of aerial vehicles, DICE is adding a more realistic way to fighting enemies from above. One of the ways to achieve that is removing the infinite ammo mechanic.

There’s no true objective for Aerial Vehicles when used in a match. Players can either use them to shoot other players on the ground or aim at enemy airships to gain aerial superiority. To keep the game more realistic and bring some balance to the, otherwise powerful, aerial vehicles, they no longer have infinite ammo and will have to instead travel back to a certain area to resupply before heading back into battle.

This not only makes each bullet more tactical for the pilot, since he can no longer spray bullets out of control, but also gives ground enemy players some time to make their strategy of taking it down before the airship comes back again after resupplying.

All players that tried Battlefield V during its pre-alpha stage, they stated that dogfights are difficult to operate. Maneuveering the vehicle needs certain movements and firing it takes extra precision. Also, for those vehicles that carry bombs on them, a second man on the cockpit is useful to let the pilot know where he should drop it.

Giving less spawn points, more difficult controls and no infinite ammo to air vehicles seems like a good thing to start off Battlefield V. Fans may be struggling to find this a good thing for now but, on the long run, noone wants a shooter from above dominating the battle. All those are speculations and we shall know how these mechanics hold up when Battlefield V finally releases this Fall, in October.
