Standalone Red Dead Online is Now Available on All Platforms
As of today, Red Dead Online – the online multiplayer component of Red Dead Redemption 2 – is now available to buy as a standalone game. This marks the first time that Rockstar has split the multiplayer from one of its games into a standalone release. Best of all, the game is currently available at a huge launch discount.

Red Dead Online is the first Rockstar multiplayer mode to get its own standalone release. However, the studio does reportedly have plans to do the same with GTA Online sometime in 2021. As of today, Red Dead Online is available to buy on the Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store, PlayStation Store, Rockstar Games Launcher, and Steam. Gamers hoping to play Red Dead Online on next-gen consoles are in luck too. The standalone Red Dead Online version is fully backwards compatible with both the PS5 and Xbox Series X. If you have the original game, you’ll still be able to play the multiplayer portion as normal.
