Following the release of “Fight Night,” a new episode of Stories From the Outlands centring on Pathfinder, Respawn has announced an all-new Apex Legends Collection Event; the first in-game event of 2021. The Fight Night Collection Event is due to start next week, on the 5th of January.
The Apex Legends Fight Night Collection Event
The Apex Legends Fight Night Collection Event, starting at 8:00 PM PT on January 5th, brings a host of new content to the game. As usual, it features its own event prize track with 24 new cosmetics, but also includes content based on Fight Night. Primarily, this includes a Pathfinder Town Takeover, as well as a new temporary game mode; “Airdrop Escalation Takeover”. There are even new MRVN robots in the game that give out loot!
The new mode coming in Fight Night is designed to be a “takeover” of the standard Apex game mode. Fundamentally, the mode is the same as a standard battle royale, but with significantly increased loot. Players will be able to find four supply drops located around the map. In each round, more of these supply drops will appear, landing like Lifeline’s Care Package. The supply drops contain a range of different weapons which get better with each round. These weapons can’t be broken down, and you won’t be able to swap their attachments, making them a clearer alternative to standard loot.
Alongside the new mode, the Fight Night events adds a brand-new arena to the Olympus map. When players enter the ring in this arena, their weapons and abilities will be disabled; the only way to take down opponents with is in melee. Outside players won’t be able to shoot into the arena either. As an added incentive to enter the ring, the arena contains several loot balls which players can punch out of the ring to open and claim rare loot.
