Three Weeks of Borderlands 3 Mini-Events Announced by Gearbox

Following the launch of the Borderlands 3 Designer’s Cut DLC late last year, which is the first part of the game’s second Season Pass, Gearbox has announced a full three weeks of Borderlands 3 Mini-Events; Clear Skies, Extra Extra Extraction, and Gear Rush.

The Next Three Weeks of Borderlands 3 Mini-Events

“Ready for even more anarchy in Arms Race?” writes Gearbox; “[…] we’ve got three weeks of mini-events that’ll spice up your survival runs through the Stormblind Complex!”

Borderlands 3 Mini-Events Three Weeks 2

For the next three weeks, players can take part in three limited-time Borderlands 3 mini-events. These modes are all designed for the Arms Race mode which was introduced with the Designer’s Cut DLC. As such, in order to take part, players will need to own that DLC.

The first of the three mini-events, Clear Skies, is currently live and will remain active until the 28th of January. During this event, every enemy in Arms Race has a chance to drop better-quality loot. Plus, the Murdercane’s circle will take longer to close, giving you more time to gather loot. At 9:00 AM PT on the 28th, Clear Skies will end and Extra Extra Extraction will begin. This week-long mini-event adds an extra slot to each of Arms Race’s extraction stations. Furthermore, Air Drops will be more likely to drop DAHL chests containing exclusive loot.

The last of the three mini-events, Gear Rush, is due to begin at 9:00 AM PT on the 4th of February, and will end at the same time on the 11th. During this event, Rare Chests will be more likely to spawn in Arms Race. Plus, the green DAHL chests in the Stormblind Complex will be more likely to offer up exclusive loot. However, these benefits do come at a cost; in a reverse of the Clear Skies event, the Murdercane will close more quickly during Gear Rush. As such, players will have a more limited time to scavenge for loot.
