Black Ops Cold War Double XP Weekend Starts This Friday

Treyarch has announced that, following the release of this week’s Season One Reloaded update, the studio will be launching the next Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Double XP Weekend. Like previous events, this “weekend” will actually be live for three days’ time.

Black Ops Cold War – Double XP Weekend

Starting at 10:00 AM PT on Friday, the 5th of February, the next Double XP Weekend will offer all players in both Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War & Warzone double XP in all modes and matches. The event is due to stay live for three days. (Before ending at 10:00 AM PT on the 8th of February.) The event will be launching one day after the next Season One Reloaded update, which will be bringing Firebase Z and more to Black Ops Cold War.

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Double XP Weekend Latest

Following a major mid-season update last month, Season One Reloaded is due to continue tomorrow, on the 4th of February. The headline feature of tomorrow’s update is the addition of Firebase Z; the next installment of the Dark Aether story in Black Ops Cold War’s Zombies mode. In addition to the new map, Zombies is getting a new Perk, new Scorestreaks, and more. Plus, the update is also adding a new Endurance game mode, new store bundles, and other new content. It is likely to be the last major update of Season One. Of course, there are a few things still on the way towards the end of the season. However, they are likely to release periodically over the next couple of weeks.

The timing of the Double XP Weekend event is conspicuously timed to coincide with the launch of Firebase Z’s Easter Egg quest. As is traditional for Call of Duty Zombies maps, Firebase Z will have a complex Easter Egg quest. However, this quest won’t initially be enabled when the map launches tomorrow. Instead, Treyarch will enable it on the 5th, alongside the start of the Double XP Weekend event.
