What does the future of the Battlefield franchise have in store for us? Going by what we have spotted on the Twitter page of one member of the DICE team, it might be something unexpected. It seems that DICE is bringing some “crazy” to Battlefield. Let’s take a look.
How Do We Know DICE is Bringing Some “Crazy” to Battlefield?
Take a look at the Twitter page of Justin Wiebe, who is the Senior Design Director at DICE LA. If you take a look at his description, it says, “bringing some “Crazy” to the Battlefield franchise…”
In this tweet, he also mentions that he is currently working on Battlefield. He added, “It’s wondrous I get to work on a game I fell in love with almost 20 years ago. The sandbox play of 1942 was just amazing for its time. I look forward to hearing from all of you what you loved and hope for in a future BF game.”
What exactly does the “Crazy” reference mean? Well, it is all guesswork at this point. Could it have to do with Battlefield 6? Possibly, but Battlefield 6 probably will not diverge a whole lot from the existing model.
The fact that he actually capitalized it seems significant, considering it is in the middle of a sentence. Clearly, he really wanted to emphasize it. Right now, a lot of gamers are proposing that he is referencing some as-yet-unrevealed Battlefield game since Battlefield 6 seems unlikely.
Then again, we remember when EA studio boss Laura Miele said, “Our studios are taking their crazy ambitious ideas and making them real” eight months ago. There, too, we see the word “crazy.” So perhaps Wiebe is simply referencing Miele’s earlier quote.
Regardless, this is a “wait and see” thing, and we don’t know how long we will be waiting for more updates. In the meantime, you can catch up on some of the other recent Battlefield news.
