You may recall that about a month ago, there was a rumor that the release date for Far Cry 6 might be April 30, 2021. The source of that rumor was a possible leak on a store page at Belgian retailer Proxis. Now, there is a new rumor that the Far Cry 6 release date might be April 6, 2021. Let’s check out the origin of this latest release date rumor.
Will the Far Cry 6 Release Date Be April 6, 2021?
To see where this rumor comes from, take a look at the screenshot in the tweet below.
What you are looking at is Microsoft Rewards, where there is a Far Cry 6 sweepstakes. What is important to note is where it says, “This sweepstakes ends April 6, 2021.” There are two reasons to think this might be the release date for Far Cry 6. First of all, it is a Tuesday. Lots of games come out on Tuesdays. Secondly, the day that games release is often the day a sweepstakes will end, and this one could follow the same pattern.
There are no guarantees, however. The official release date has not been announced, and this “leak” may just be some kind of a placeholder. It could be that the game will release at around that timeframe, and they just picked a random Tuesday in the right ballpark. For all we know, April 30 could still be likely as well. The fact that two rumored release dates have been so close together though seems like it is probably significant. Surely the game will come out in April or close to it.
The next installment in the Far Cry series will take gamers to a tropical country called Yara ruled by a dictator named Anton Castillo and his son Diego. As the player, you will take on the role of a guerrilla fighter named Dani Rojas. When we find out the official release date for Far Cry 6, we will let you know in our Far Cry news.
