Just like many previous Collection Events, next week’s Chaos Theory Collection Event in Apex Legends features a new Town Takeover. Each Town Takeover brings a major new site to one of the game’s maps, and this time the site is Caustic Treatment, replacing Kings Canyon’s Water Treatment site.

“Where Water Treatment once stood,” writes Respawn; “the new Caustic Treatment was constructed to prevent the Crash Site fuel spill from reaching the ocean. Or was it?”
As the name implies, Caustic Treatment is associated with Caustic, and is just as toxic and dangerous as the Legend himself. The large facility has a spacious central area with plenty of room to fight across multiple levels. The facility also boasts a valuable hoard of loot; namely, four gold loot items. These items are sealed in cages, however. They can only be accessed if players drain the toxic fluids from within the treatment facility. However, once this has been done, players will have a limited time to get their hands on the loot before the area becomes deadly once again.
As such, Caustic Treatment is likely to become a hotspot on Kings Canyon. Players looking to score valuable loot early in a game may seek to drop into the Treatment site directly, making it very high-risk, high-reward. It remains to be seen exactly how its arrival will shift players’ current strategies, however.
The addition of Caustic Treatment will have a secondary effect on Kings Canyon with the departure of the Mirage Voyage. “If you happen to notice that the Mirage Voyage is missing,” explains Respawn; “you can put the blame on Caustic. The polluted fumes from Caustic Treatment really killed the vibe, so Mirage set sail to take the party elsewhere. No one’s spotted it yet, but that party boat tends to show up in an arena when you least expect it.”
