Post-Launch Game Patches Not Downloading for Some PS3 Games Right Now

Been having an issue lately where some of your PS3 games are not downloading post-launch game patches? If so, you are not the only one. Users are reporting that this is a problem right now for a number of games. Let’s learn more about this issue and how it is affecting PS3 gamers.

PS3 Users Can’t Download Post-Launch Game Patches for Some Titles

As you likely are aware, the PS3 PlayStation Store is soon going to be closing (not the only change). This is already an alarming reality for a lot of gamers. So, it isn’t setting anyone at ease that suddenly, there are some PS3 games that are failing to download post-launch game patches.

Quite a large number of games are affected; there is a list you can view here. Some examples include Alien: Isolation, Battlefield 4, Far Cry 3, a couple of different FIFA titles, Journey, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, Resident Evil Revelations, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception: Game of the Year, White Knight Chronicles, and others. There does not appear to be any obvious connection between the games in question. Also, the problem seems to be restricted to certain regions and not others. But one thing gamers have noted is that physical disc versions of games seem to be having this problem more than digital versions.

This problem is more than a minor inconvenience for some of these games, resulting in missing features and capabilities. Some games also may be subject to errors that patches would normally correct. The problem is hopefully just a fleeting error. But gamers on PS3 hardly feel like they are a high priority to Sony right now. It would be concerning if this problem becomes more extensive or is not resolved soon. We will keep you up to date on any further developments in our PlayStation news.
