In just a few day’s time, Treyarch will be holding yet another double XP weekend event in both Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone. While it won’t be an extended weekend, like similar recent double XP events, it will include extra bonuses.
This Week’s Double XP Weekend Event
Double XP weekend events are relatively common in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone at present. Indeed, the most recent was just last week, and was fairly typical of its format; Treyarch has increasingly taken to running ‘extended’ weekend events which span 3-5 days rather than the actual weekend per se. In this case, however, it will be on the shorter end of the spectrum. The event is due to start at 10:00 AM PT on the 16th of April. It will end at the same time of day on the 19th, three days later.
Unlike other recent double XP weekend events, this week’s fixture will offer several different bonuses. More specifically, players won’t just benefit from Double XP, but rather also Double Weapon XP and Double Battle Pass XP too. The latter is quite rare when it comes to double XP events, although its inclusion this week does make sense. Season 2 will soon be coming to an end, so Treyarch is giving players an extra incentive to complete their Battle Passes while time remains.
Alongside the announcement of this weekend event, Treyarch also announced today that they will temporarily be pulling the Snipers Only Moshpit playlist from the game. This is reportedly due to the surfacing of a bug which was causing player classes to be reset. It’s currently unknown when the playlist will return. However, Treyarch has told players to; “watch for its return soon!” Of course, it remains to be seen whether it will return in time for the double XP weekend.
