The Apex Legends War Games event has almost reached its midway point, and today, the third new playlist takeover was launched. Replacing the Ultra Zones game mode, Auto Banners has now taken over the Play Apex playlist, offering players their third new game mode of the event.
Apex Legends War Games: The Auto Banners Takeover
Like the previous two playlist takeovers in War Games, Auto Banners is only available to play for a few days. Specifically, it will only be available for three days, and will be ending on the 21st of April, when it will be replaced by Killing Time. The Auto Banners mode is similar in some regards to the first playlist takeover of the War Games; Second Chance. In that mode, every player got one free auto-respawn in each match. Auto Banners also changes aspects of the game’s respawn system, but in a different fashion.

In Auto Banners, when one of your squadmates is killed, their Banner Card will be retrieved automatically. This means that you don’t need to manually retrieve their Card from their death box. Instead, you can simply head for the nearest respawn beacon and revive them; just as if you had manually picked up the Banner Card. To make respawning even easier, the Auto Banners’ mode’s loot pool contains more Mobile Respawn Beacons than normal too!
There are now only two more playlist takeovers due to come in the latter half of War Games; Killing Time and Armour Regen. The event will come to an end on the 27th of April, giving each mode only a few days to be available. In Killing Time, every player death causes the round time to suddenly drop. In Armour Regen, on the other hand, players automatically regenerate armour when they aren’t in combat, but Shield Cells will be removed from the game!
