Double XP Now Available in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War All Weekend
Following the recent rollout of the major Season 3 Reloaded update for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, which included the month-long ‘80s Action Heroes event, Treyarch is giving players another opportunity to get extra XP. The latest Double XP Weekend event is now live, and will be available in-game for four days.
This Week’s Double XP Weekend in Black Ops Cold War
Like some previous Double XP Weekend events, this weekend’s event is available throughout the “long” weekend, including Friday and Monday. As such, the event is due to end on the 31st of May. Specifically, this event offers general Double XP, rather than Double Weapon XP. This latest Double XP event is the first since the start of Season 3 Reloaded. As a result, it’s a great opportunity to get caught up on the new content, particularly the limited-time event content.
Launched in conjunction with Season 3 Reloaded, the ’80s Action Heroes event features tie-ins with the Die Hard and Rambo franchises. It adds both John McClane and Rambo himself as playable Operators, available via two in-game store bundles. The event also adds new game modes, such as Die Hardpoint and Power Grab, which are now available to play. It also adds several major new areas to Warzone’s Verdansk map. Most notably, these include Nakatomi Plaza, the setting of the first Die Hard movie. This skyscraper is the tallest building in Verdansk and features its own special events within. Also scattered around the map are Survival Camps, inspired by the Rambo movies.
Aside from the new event, plenty of new content is also available in Black Ops Cold War’s Zombies modes. The Outbreak mode now has its own Main Quest, which serves as the next chapter of the ongoing Zombies story. A new World Event is also available in Outbreak, featuring the towering and terrifying Orda monsters. These can be found throughout the Ural Mountains. They pose an enormous threat to players, although bringing one down can net you some valuable rewards.
