Season 4, due to launch tomorrow, is set to bring a whole host of new content to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Call of Duty: Warzone, however, is hardly missing out. The new season is bringing a new limited-time event – Ground Fall – as well as two new Warzone modes and plenty of changes to Verdansk.
Key Features in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 4
Ground Fall is the headline feature of Season 4 for Call of Duty: Warzone. However, it’s only the tip of the iceberg for the new Warzone content in this latest season. To start with, the Verdansk map will be receiving an array of changes. Satellite Crash Sites, for example, will be visible across the map. These sites are the locations of the SAT-Link devices needed to complete the Ground Fall objectives.
New Red Doors are also appearing all over the map. Treyarch is keeping the exact purpose of these doors a secret for the time being, so players will have to find them in-game to find out what they do for themselves. Elsewhere, the Gulag is getting a total redesign. The existing Standoff Gulag map is getting a replacement; a plywood reconstruction of the Hijacked map, which is coming to Black Ops Cold War this season.
Warzone players who took part in the recent ’80s Action Heroes event will no doubt have visited Nakatomi Plaza, which became the game’s tallest building. While the event may have ended, this tower will be staying in Verdansk, under the name ‘Downtown Tower’. Of course, the event-specific objectives and rewards will no longer be available, however.
At the launch of Season 4, Warzone players will get access to a new game mode; Verdansk Resurgence Mini. This mode is based on the Rebirth Island Resurgence experience, but with a few changes. There is a Resurgence timer, no Gulag, special Supply Boxes, but also limited lobby sizes. Depending on squad size, the game will allow no more than 44-45 players per match. Later in the season, players can look forward to Payload, a second new mode. This will be Warzone’s first-ever objective-based game mode, featuring two huge teams of Operators escorting two convoys across the map.
